About TKG Custom Homes

We've Built Homes for 20 Years. Yours Will Be the One We're Most Proud Of.

You shouldn't have to choose between custom quality and a reasonable timeline.

The Production Background Advantage

Steve Turner spent over 20 years in production homebuilding. He learned what worked — and what didn't — in high-volume construction. Then he and his son Coy launched TKG with a mission:

Combine the efficiency and discipline of production building with the quality and customization of true custom homes.

The result? Homes designed entirely from scratch, built with superior materials, and completed faster than typical custom builds — all without sacrificing an ounce of quality.

Most custom builders quote 14–18 months. We deliver in 10–12. Not by cutting corners — by scheduling like the production builders we used to be.

Steve Turner

Builder & Co-Founder

Steve brings over two decades of production homebuilding experience to TKG. His expertise isn't just in building homes — it's in knowing what to avoid. He catches bowed walls, out-of-plumb door jambs, and shoddy work that other builders miss.

Quality is very important to us. Not only what you can see, but what's under your feet and behind the sheetrock.

Coy Turner

Sales & Client Experience

Coy is your main point of contact throughout the building process. He's not just a sales rep — he's your advocate, project coordinator, and problem-solver. From the first consultation to move-in day, nothing falls through the cracks.

I don't want to present the lowest price possible. I want to present the realest price possible.

Billie Jo

Purchasing & Selections

Billie Jo is your guide through the overwhelming world of selections. Tile, countertops, cabinets, paint, fixtures — she makes sure everything coordinates beautifully while you focus on picking what you love. She also handles vendor relationships and purchasing.

I keep notes so you don't have to remember every detail. My job is to make sure your home feels like you.

Dre Gutierrez

Director of Finance & Accounting

Dre keeps TKG running behind the scenes — managing budgets, contracts, and finances so every project stays on track. His attention to detail means no surprises when it comes to your investment.

Transparency in the numbers builds trust. Every homeowner deserves to know exactly where their investment goes.

Rooted in the Community

We don't just build homes here — we live here. We sponsor local teams, support local causes, and give back to the community that's given us so much.

Every Material. Every Method. Explained.

Most homebuyers focus on finishes — countertops, tile, paint. Those matter, but they're easy to change later. What you can't change? Foundation, framing, insulation, sheathing, siding. Those are the bones of your home. Here's what we use and exactly what it costs us to do it right.

Top Quality Trades

Priceless consistency

vs. Most builders bid jobs to 5-7 subs and pick the cheapest

We don't bid your job to seven framers and pick the cheapest one. We use the same trusted crews on every build — tradespeople who know our standards and have worked with us since the beginning.

Why this matters: Consistent quality, fewer mistakes, and craftsmen who take pride in their work. Our framer has been with us since day one. That kind of relationship shows in every wall.

Quality Materials — No Corners Cut

Built to last generations

vs. Many builders find budget materials to save a buck

We don't hunt for the cheapest option. We use materials we know will build a lifelong product — from solid wood cabinets to premium tile to spray foam insulation.

Why this matters: There's a reason we don't have a warranty department. When you build it right the first time with quality materials, you don't spend your days fixing callbacks.

ZIP System Wall Sheathing

Premium over standard OSB + Tyvek

vs. Most builders use OSB + Tyvek house wrap

Engineered wood panels with a built-in water-resistive barrier. Eliminates the seams where moisture sneaks through. It's a stronger moisture barrier that prevents mold and rot before they ever start.

Why this matters: Your walls stay dry from the inside out. No hidden mold surprises, no moisture damage behind your drywall.

Spray Foam Insulation

$5,000–$8,000 more (pays back in 3–5 years)

vs. Industry standard is fiberglass batts

Air-seals every gap and crack. Higher R-value, blocks moisture and pests, reduces outside noise. The bottom line: lower energy bills and consistent temperature year-round.

Why this matters: Lower energy bills (payback in 3–5 years), quieter rooms, and consistent temperatures throughout your home. Costs $5,000–$8,000 more than fiberglass — then saves you money every month.

Solid Wood Cabinets

30–50% more, lasts 30+ years vs 10

vs. Many builders use particle board or MDF

Real knotty alder, clear alder, or your choice of wood species. Never particle board with a veneer that peels.

Why this matters: Open and close them 10,000 times — they'll still feel solid. Can be refinished (particle board can't). Costs 30–50% more but lasts 30+ years instead of 10.

All Porcelain Tile

Higher material cost, decades longer lifespan

vs. Most builders use cheaper ceramic tile

Denser and more durable than ceramic — won't stain, chip, or wear like cheaper options.

Why this matters: Floors that handle real life — kids, dogs, muddy boots — and still look great 20 years from now.

How We Work

Our values aren't on a plaque — they're in every decision we make.

Building Generational Homes

We're not building a house — we're building a generational home. A home your kids can inherit. A home that lasts 50, 60, 100 years. That mindset shapes every decision we make, from materials to craftsmanship.

Transparency First

We'd rather lose a contract than mislead you. If your dream home doesn't fit your budget, we'll tell you upfront — not after you've signed.

Aim to Please

We want every client to move in with zero regrets. That means going the extra mile and treating your project like it's our own home.

Efficient, Not Rushed

Our production background means we keep projects moving without cutting corners. Faster timelines, same premium quality.

What Our Clients Say

4.9 from 18 reviews

TKG Custom Homes is hands down the best in town. They built our house like they were building it for themselves, making sure everything was correct. The entire build went so smooth, which is very unusual. They not only care about their customers, but they care about their quality of work. They did such a good job, we contracted them to build a pool, which is in its final stages and again, no issues. TKG goes above and beyond and we would definitely use them again if we build in the future.
